About the Role
Our client in the consulting engineering sector is looking for an experienced Resident Engineer (Structures) to oversee and manage structural aspects of the construction of a large building complex. This role is based in Cape Town. This is a Fixed Term contract minimum 24 months. The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
• To oversee and manage structural aspects of the construction of a large building complex in Cape Town.
• The typical responsibilities will be to ensure adherence to design drawings, specifications, safety standards, and project timelines.
• Acting as the main point of contact between the construction team and stakeholders.
• Successful candidate would have excellent record keeping & QA experience and have sound interpersonal skills to liaise with and support an office-based design team.
Requirements
Must have B Tech Structural Engineering or related
Must be Professionally registered with ECSA as Professional Engineering Technologist
Must have 8 years minimum post registration experience
Minimum of 8 years site experience on a full-time basis on commercial buildings with reinforced concrete and structural steel is essential
Fully conversant with MS Office 365 and related Microsoft collaboration tools
Experience with AutoCAD, Revit & MS Project would be considered advantageous
