About the Role
Our client in energy sector is searching for a Graduate/Junior Project Engineer to assist in the planning, design, implementation, and support of bioenergy combined heat and power (CHP) plant projects. To be based in Limpopo, Vhembe district, Makhado. Duties will include but not be limited to:
Project Support:
• Assist in the development of project schedules, budgets, and documentation.
• Provide support in tracking project milestones and preparing progress reports.
• Participate in project team meetings, capturing minutes and key action points.
Design and Engineering Assistance:
• Support engineering teams in preparing basic designs and specifications for CHP components, such as turbines, boilers, and heat exchangers.
• Perform calculations and assist in reviewing engineering drawings under supervision.
• Research applicable safety and environmental standards to ensure design compliance.
Procurement Support:
• Help in preparing specifications for equipment and materials procurement.
• Collaborate with suppliers to gather technical data and ensure alignment with project requirements.
Construction and Site Activities:
• Shadow site engineers during inspections to gain familiarity with installation processes and construction quality standards.
• Support on-site activities by coordinating document approvals and tracking materials.
Commissioning and Documentation:
• Assist in commissioning activities, such as equipment testing and data collection.
• Document commissioning results and compile operation manuals under guidance.
Learning and Development:
• Engage in structured training programs, including hands-on experience and workshops.
• Develop proficiency in engineering and project management tools.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in electrical, or Civil/Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
Zero (0) to two (2) years of experience in an engineering or project-related role (internships and co-op programs are considered valuable experience).
Coursework or project experience related to energy systems or power generation is an advantage.
Basic knowledge of CHP technologies and energy systems is desirable.
Familiarity with engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Eagerness to learn and apply project management tools
Open to candidates who are only based in Limpopo.
