About the Role
Our Client in Mining Sector is searching for a Control and Instrumentation Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Mining Sector. This is a contract role. The successful candidate will be responsible for but not be limited to the following:
• Control Systems and Instrumentation:
• Design, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of control systems and instrumentation equipment in a mining environment.
• Perform routine inspections and ensure systems comply with regulatory and safety standards.
• Commissioning:
• Plan, manage, and execute commissioning activities for mining operations.
• Develop commissioning procedures and ensure accurate calibration and configuration of instruments and systems.
• Conduct system integration tests and ensure smooth handover to operations teams.
• Project Management:
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Manage contractor and supplier relationships, ensuring adherence to project specifications and safety protocols.
• Maintenance and Upgrades:
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and upgrades to enhance system efficiency and reliability.
• Provide technical support and training to on-site personnel.
• Compliance and Documentation:
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including technical reports, risk assessments, and test results.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related field.
Professional Engineering Registration (preferred).
Minimum of 10 years of experience in control and instrumentation engineering, preferably within the mining sector.
Proven expertise in commissioning systems and equipment in complex operational environments.
Proficient in PLC/SCADA systems and DCS (Distributed Control Systems).
Knowledge of industry-standard software tools and instrumentation design.
Familiarity with safety and regulatory standards in mining operations.
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
Ability to work effectively in high-pressure, on-site environments.
