About the Role


Our Client in Mining Sector is searching for a Control and Instrumentation Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Mining Sector. This is a contract role. The successful candidate will be responsible for but not be limited to the following:
• Control Systems and Instrumentation:
• Design, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of control systems and instrumentation equipment in a mining environment.
• Perform routine inspections and ensure systems comply with regulatory and safety standards.
• Commissioning:
• Plan, manage, and execute commissioning activities for mining operations.
• Develop commissioning procedures and ensure accurate calibration and configuration of instruments and systems.
• Conduct system integration tests and ensure smooth handover to operations teams.
• Project Management:
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Manage contractor and supplier relationships, ensuring adherence to project specifications and safety protocols.
• Maintenance and Upgrades:
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and upgrades to enhance system efficiency and reliability.
• Provide technical support and training to on-site personnel.
• Compliance and Documentation:
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including technical reports, risk assessments, and test results.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or a related field.

  • Professional Engineering Registration (preferred).

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in control and instrumentation engineering, preferably within the mining sector.

  • Proven expertise in commissioning systems and equipment in complex operational environments.

  • Proficient in PLC/SCADA systems and DCS (Distributed Control Systems).

  • Knowledge of industry-standard software tools and instrumentation design.

  • Familiarity with safety and regulatory standards in mining operations.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure, on-site environments.
