About the Role
Our client in the consulting environment is looking for an experienced Civil Engineer with 6 Years’ experience in civil engineering. This includes site and design of civil works (Roads, Storm water, Sewers and water systems). This role is based in Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
• Design of civil engineering services
• Assist with investigation of alternative solutions to problems
• Assist with compiling technical reports
• Manage project staff with draughting
• Assist with tender documentation and measurement of quantities
• Assist with preparation of contract documentation
• Maintain careful records of all design, issue and construction documentation as per company procedures
• Assist with site supervision and construction monitoring
• Keep project quality records of on-site test results
• Maintain ISO 9001 quality assurance standards
• Keep updated with all relevant design codes and standards
• Keep updated with all relevant computer design packages
• Interact with all members of the project professional team
• Assist with the archiving of project to current requirements
• Assist with coaching and train draughters, technicians and technologists
• Follow the company mentorship program to obtain professional registration
• Required to perform any other duties which may be required from time to time by the department manager or project leader
Requirements
Must have bachelor’s degree: Engineering – Civil
Must have 6 Years’ experience in civil engineering. This includes site and design of civil works (Roads, Storm water, Sewers and water systems).
Must be registered with ECSA as a professional Engineer
