About the Role
Our client in the consulting sector seeks to employ a Civil Engineer/Technologist for the develop and design roads infrastructure for their office in Cape Town with at least 4 Years’ experience with extensive knowledge in roads, drainage design, tender documentation and contract administration. The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
• Develop and design road infrastructure.
• Technical and design competence in geometric design (from inception to detailed design).
• Prepare and analyse detailed engineering plans and specifications
• Estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment or labour to determine project feasibility
• Compile bill of quantities
• Manage project timelines efficiently
• Prepare and evaluate tender documents
• Prepare project reports and presentations
• Provide technical advice regarding design, construction, or program modifications
• Manage project workflow.
• Engineering Contracts Management (FIDIC, NEC, JBCC, GCC) proficiency
• Project Risk management
• Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs
• Ensure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
• Implement the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act and any recommendations from audits carried out within the project environment
• Perform all civil engineering duties
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree (BSc. or B.Tech)
> 4 Years’ experience with extensive knowledge in roads, drainage design, tender documentation and contract administration.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil3D Design, etc.
Knowledge of TRH series, SANRAL Geometric Design standards, SANRAL drainage Manual, COTO specifications etc.
Capable of solving complex engineering problems.
Have a valid driver’s license
Manage several projects simultaneously
