About the Role

Our client in the Engineering Sector is looking for an Assistant Bookkeeper who has at least 5-10 years of experience in the Mining and Power Generation or Similar Sectors. The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

• Creating and processing invoices
• Rebasing, Calculations, invoicing, and submission to PS and ESS
• Responsible for Bank transactions, allocations, and recons.
• Creating supplier invoices, CN’s, payment allocations, recon accounts.
• Creating supplier, customer, and account listings.
• Cross-checking invoices with payments and expenses to ensure accuracy
• Managing a company’s accounts payable and receivable
• Tracking organization expenses
• Working with collection agencies on overdue payments
• Communicating with clients regarding billing and payments.
• Reconciling the company’s bank statements and bookkeeping ledgers
• Completing analysis of the employee expenditures
• Managing income and expenditure accounts
• Generating the company’s financial reports using income and expenditure data
• Keeping a check on the company’s finances based on financial status
• Filing and remitting taxes and other financial obligations
• Initiating and managing financial and accounting software used by the company.
• Maintain accurate financial records.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards.


· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a Related Qualification.

· 5-10 years’ Experience as an Accounting Officer.

· Working Experience in the Mining, Power generation or Similar Sector.

· Software knowledge- Sage Accounting

· Must have a Driver’s License
